Skies turned dark in La Crosse during Thursday's storm, about an hour after sunrise

The bluffs around La Crosse got 7 inches of new snow from the storm of the last two days.

But areas north of La Crosse saw even more of the white stuff…with 8 inches in Black River Falls, and 10 inches or more in northern parts of Trempealeau County.

Up to 8 inches fell in the Rochester area.

In the city of La Crosse, the official snow total was 5.9 inches.

By this time last April, La Crosse already had 7 inches of snow for the month, on the way to a record monthly total of 19 inches.
