Kabat sets agenda for next 2 years in La Crosse
La Crosse’s mayor expects the next couple of years to be “incredibly challenging” for local government.
Mayor Tim Kabat, however, said City Hall has some of the best and most dedicated government employees in the area.
During a reorganizational meeting of the city council last week, Kabat said cutbacks in state funding for Wisconsin’s local governments have led to revenue decreases, which combine with cost increases to make it hard to provide city services.
Kabat added, though, that La Crosse has finished two very productive years, and people living in the city are its “greatest resource.”

I don’t believe Kabat. What has he accomplished as our Mayor? What has he done about our horrible street conditions. Almost every major street and neighborhood streets are in a terrible shape. Our maintenance Dept. did such a lousy job of snow removal this past winter. We the citizen’s are left with huge potholes all over the city which have caused major and minor damage to many vehicles and still is. His bandaid of ‘filling in the holes’ is ridiculous because the roads are all uneven now and rough. What has he accomplished in his time as Mayor of La Crosse? Please tell me because I think he’s done very little to clean up downtown La Crosse, our drug dealer/usage epidemic or our aging city streets. He hasn’t brought in new business to La Crosse ( Don Weber’s family has). Someone tell me, other than collecting a paycheck, what has Kabat really accomplished for La Crosse?
