Kind supports investigations into Russian election meddling

President Trump and his supporters claim a two-year investigation into Russian election interference was a “witch hunt” that turned up nothing.

Wisconsin Democratic Congressman Ron Kind, who used to be an assistant district attorney, says otherwise.

“What the report showed is that clearly Russia interfered in our 2016 election and they’re continuing to do so,” Kind said.

He also questioned where Donald Trump’s loyalties reside.

“People need to know whether or not the president of the United States is compromised in some fashion with a foreign adversary — whether it’s Russia, maybe Saudi Arabia,” Kind said. That’s why I think these investigations are important.”

The 12-term Congressman says countries like Russia and China aren’t likely to stop disruptive activities, and he wants the president to be more concerned.

“He’s still refusing to take any action, and that’s very disturbing because we know they’re gearing up again,” Kind said. “If there’s one thing that should unite us all as Americans, is that we will not tolerate any country or any foreign entity who is trying to mess around in our elections.”
