An internet-sex sting has led to charges against a former La Crosse teacher now living in Rhinelander, Wis.

Valentine

Alexander Valentine is on administrative leave from the Crandon School District, where he has been teaching band.

The 27-year-old is accused of attempted sexual assault against a girl for allegedly trying to arrange a sexual encounter with someone he had communicated with online.

The person who posed as a 15-year-old girl online was actually an undercover agent.

Valentine was arrested at a Home Depot in Rhinelander, where he had arranged to meet the person he had chatted with.

Valentine appeared Tuesday in Oneida County court, where a $10,000 cash bond was set.

The April arrest around the same time that former La Crosse School District show choir director Dustin Bagstad was sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting girls in La Crosse County.
