Arts board votes to take sculpture out of Pump House lot

By the time the Artspire festival is celebrated in La Crosse next month, a familiar piece of art could be removed from the Pump House parking lot. 

The ‘Dancers’ sculpture has to be taken off its pedestal for repairs, including a new paint job. 

The city arts board has voted to get the sculpture out of the lot before Artspire occurs during the second weekend of June. 

Another vote has to be taken by the La Crosse park board before the relocation takes place. 

Arts board members are considering a new home for the ‘Dancers,’ probably outside the Weber Center…across the street from the Pump House.
