La Crosse County seeks voice in civic center decisions

If you want money from us, then include us in your plans. 

Some La Crosse County supervisors are sending that message to the La Crosse Center and city leaders, who are seeking money from several sources for the $42 million Center renovation. 

County administrator Steve O’Malley told the board that the civic center has been planning the project for about five years, and never asked for input from the county until it requested funding of about $100,000 a year. 

County leaders are suggesting the La Crosse Center Board should include a county board representative, if such a donation is made.

A decision probably won’t be made until June, but the board was given options Monday night ranging from paying nothing to granting city hall’s full request.

    just like 30 years ago….I suggested that the airport go under County control so the if there is any budget shortfalls that the entire county should own, run, and operate it.

    Same goes for the La Crosse Center….deed it to the county
