A La Crosse woman has been accused of being involved in two new criminal cases — one as a defendant, the other as an alleged victim.

Thompson

Monica Thompson is suspected of reckless endangerment for trying to run over three teenagers on bicycles, but she claims she wasn’t the driver.

Police believe the 21-year-old Thompson was speeding behind the cyclists and struck one boy on Friday night, near a community center on 6th Street.

In court, Thompson said she doesn’t know the juveniles, and her mother said somebody else was driving that car.

She has still been ordered to stay away from the bicycle riders.

Thompson is also accused of getting into a fight on the street this month with Devon Yang, who has a plea hearing next month for allegedly trying to shoot Thompson two years ago.

Yang is charged with running after Thompson and starting the argument.

Yang and three other young men were charged with firing a gun at Thompson on State Street in La Crosse in 2017.

He could enter a plea in that case next month.
