Local Irish group donates to hospice programs
Two local hospice programs in La Crosse are getting a financial boost from a yearly Irish celebration.
The La Crosse-Bantry Friendship Association gave checks for $800 each to the Gundersen and Mayo hospice services.
Dr. Hilary Bingol from Mayo says the donation will help provide end-of-life hospice care for some area veterans.
Money for the Gundersen program is intended to fund recordings that can be made by hospice patients for their families.
The money was raised in March, during the annual Coulee Hoolie Ceili, a festival featuring Irish dance and music.
