An empty pedestal with a plaque is left behind in the Pump House parking lot, after removal of the 'Dancers' sculpture

Something’s missing from the Pump House parking lot in La Crosse.

The ‘Dancers’ sculpture has been taken down from its pedestal this week, so the artwork can be repainted.

Only the concrete pedestal remains at the spot where the metal sculpture has been displayed for 17 years.

The ‘Dancers’ could be moved soon to a new site on the opposite side of Front Street, outside the Weber Center.

City officials voted this month to relocate the sculpture, partly to allow more room for parking, and room for the Artspire festival happening at the Pump House next weekend.
