Police are investigating a report from earlier this month regarding bacon wrapped screws thrown on the ground.

A dog owner, living in the 1500 block of Avon Street, called the La Crosse Police Department after he saw his dog begin to eat at something near a tree.

He found several pieces of cooked bacon that had screws through the middle.

The man said his dog was able to digest the food and pass it.

A police report said there are no suspects and no video cameras are near the area.
