Interviews for La Crosse Airport director begin Tuesday

Six people will be interviewed this week for the top job at the La Crosse Regional Airport.

Ironically, none of those candidates will be required to fly to La Crosse for an interview, unless they become finalists.

The six interviews will be conducted by satellite or phone Tuesday and Wednesday.

Former airport director Clint Torp took a new job with the Des Moines Airport in April. His deputy director, Jason Gillett, also left La Crosse recently. 

The deputy post could be filled after a new director is hired.  

Aviation Board chair Andrea Richmond says two finalists are expected to be brought to La Crosse for interviews, perhaps with other members of the board participating in the questioning.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
