Identity of 17-year-old La Crosse crash victim revealed

The La Crosse School District has identified the teenager killed in a multi-vehicle crash last Friday.

The 17-year-old is identified as Mai Yeng Xiong who attended Central High School.

A post on the district’s Facebook page described her as a joyous and outgoing person, who was involved in the Adapted Sports League, where she earned nine all conference selections.

She would have been a senior in September.

The sheriff’s department had stated several northbound vehicles were struck by a pickup truck pulling a trailer that had crossed the centerline. Four other people were injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
