Two new criminal charges have been filed in Eau Claire, against an area restaurant owner accused of sexually assaulting a female employee.

Online records show that, last week, prosecutors brought charges of second-degree sexual assault and attempted sexual assault against Filiberto Rivera, the owner of Manny’s Cocina restaurants in Onalaska and Eau Claire.

Rivera was arrested in May and, at the time, was charged only with third-degree sexual assault.

Investigators say Rivera got a 20-year-old employee drunk and assaulted her on the bar at the Eau Claire restaurant.

He has a court hearing scheduled Monday in Eau Claire County.
