Six people and a dog rescued from La Crosse river after boats capsize

Six people, a dog and multiple boats capsized had emergency crews called to the La Crosse River on Sunday afternoon.

The call came in around 3:30 p.m., as three of four boats capsized and six people were in the water.

All the people were brought to shore safely with no injuries. The dog was apparently taken to the vet. Facebook comments on the La Crosse F.D. Facebook post state it died.

The police department and Tri-State Ambulance were also on scene.

La Crosse saw heavy storms both in the morning and the afternoon.
