Female gym teacher gets probation and jail in Monroe County for sexual contact with 17-year-old boy

A middle-school gym teacher from Bangor could serve some time in jail, after she was sentenced for sexual contact with a teenage boy in Monroe County.

Court records say Alexis Mashak pleaded guilty to three criminal counts, while a fourth count of sexually assaulting a child will be part of a diversion agreement.

Last year, the 29-year-old Mashak was accused of having repeated sexual contact with a 17-year-old boy who was a co-worker at a Sparta Boys and Girls Club.

Under the plea agreement, jail sentences were stayed in favor of three years on probation, with some jail time over the next year.

A hearing on the sexual assault charge is scheduled for November.

Mashak was arrested last year for allegedly having sexual contact with the high school student at different locations, including his house and his car.
