Melrose bust leads to drug charges

A drug bust leads to trafficking charges against a Jackson County man. 

Victor Williams of the Melrose area has been jailed, after a Tuesday search of a rural house turned up drugs, $4300 in cash, and a handgun. 

Williams is accused of dealing drugs in Jackson and Monroe Counties. 

Police arrested the 40-year-old Williams away from the house, and found him hiding cocaine and fentanyl on his body.       

He faces nine separate criminal charges, mostly for drug possession.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
