A La Crosse man was jailed after he allegedly punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach.

Steele

Jamie Steele confronted his girlfriend Sunday night when she said she was about to go to Kwik Trip.

The 39-year-old allegedly accused her of infidelity. During the argument, the woman tried to leave and Steele punched her in the stomach, then took off.

He was arrested later that night and denied anything physical occurred.

Steele is charged with battery to an unborn child, disorderly conduct and a probation violation.
