A La Crosse man came home Saturday night to find a tent pitched in his backyard.

No, it was not his kids having a sleepover.

The man called police shortly after 11 p.m., saying he didn’t know who was in the tent or why they decided to set up camp there.

When police opened up the tent, they found Wylie Erickson and another female asleep inside.

The property owner had let the 23-year-old Erickson stay there for a time but had since kicked him out.

It was his birthday that night, and he ended up spending it in jail, after police found he had a warrant.

He also was cited for trespassing, while the female was released.
