The La Crosse Airport apparently finds a new director in Colorado.

Ian Turner has been approved by the city aviation board as the next director of La Crosse’s Regional Airport.

Turner is now the director of aviation in Pueblo, Colorado, which is about twice the size of La Crosse.

He was chosen from a field of 66 candidates to succeed Clint Torp, who left La Crosse earlier this year for a job at the Des Moines airport.

Andrea Richmond, who chairs the aviation board, believes Turner has skills at planning and finances that would be useful at the La Crosse airport.

Two other finalists were interviewed for the La Crosse job, but one woman under consideration withdrew her name.

The city council will have the final hiring decision at its August meeting.
