La Crosse driver facing 4th OWI charge

A man who was found lying in a fetal position outside his car is being charged with drunk driving for the 4th time. 

Thirty-seven-year-old Chadwick Wylie of La Crosse has three previous OWI convictions in the last six years. 

Police who were called to a Kwik Trip store in La Crosse on Saturday discovered Wylie lying next to his car. 

Wylie apparently tried to avoid being arrested, and may have swallowed a prescription drug before police arrived. 

Surveillance video showed Wylie slowly falling to the ground as he was trying to get into his car at the Kwik Trip.  

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk."
