An early morning house fire on 7th Street South has been confined to an enclosed porch.

Everyone in the house had evacuated before firefighters arrived, just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

A bystander used a fire extinguisher to help control the flames before the fire crews got to the house.

Firefighters found evidence of smaller fires at a neighboring house, and in a nearby alley.

Police and the fire investigation bureau are looking into those incidents.
