David Hansen (seated center) is sentenced by Judge Ramona Gonzalez on Thursday for possessing child porn

A French Island man who had child porn on his home computer is ordered to serve 3 years in prison.

David Hansen fears that he’ll die behind bars, because he’s 75 years old, and has several health problems.

At his plea hearing and sentencing on Thursday, Hansen told Judge Ramona Gonzalez that the images of child porn were randomly sent to him, and he looked at them out of curiosity.

Hansen was 72 when he was arrested for downloading porn from the internet, after a tip from a national center for missing children.

He didn’t show up for his trial last year, and police found him five months ago in Wyoming.

Hansen will serve three years in prison, and will be on supervision for three years after that.

The judge said the courts have learned that sometimes age ‘has nothing to do’ with whether someone will reoffend.

What?? Skipped out on appearances? Only THREE (3) years of lockup and supervision? Where/who is the judge? Should also be registered as a lifetime sex offender. There should be consistency in the state of Wis. And the legislators should eliminate the gps bracelets for lifetime. We are not in the slavery time with shackles. A totally WRONG decision of our legislators.
