A knife attack on a 19-year-old man in Winona may have resulted from a drug deal gone bad.

The victim was stabbed several times at a house on West 9th Street in Winona on Monday, and he was sent to a hospital in Rochester.

Investigators believe he may have been involved in a cocaine deal with the stabbing suspect, 21-year-old Terrence Terry, who is being charged with two counts of assault.

Police have been told that Terry brought cocaine to the house, and became angry when the victim said he wasn’t going to pay for the drug.
