Ronald Crosby, Jr. (second from left) is sentenced to probation on Thursday by La Crosse Judge Gloria Doyle

A teenager implicated in an alleged gang rape two years ago in La Crosse was sentenced Thursday to probation in a different case.

Ronald Crosby Jr., pleaded no contest to charges of kicking and beating his ex-girlfriend last year during an argument about their car. The 19-year-old received two years on probation.

Back in April, Crosby was released from jail after serving time for sexual assault and heroin charges.

The district attorney recommended probation on the new misdemeanor charges.

The victim claimed Crosby punched and kicked her, and hit her with a chair, when she wouldn’t give him the car keys.

In court, Judge Gloria Doyle ordered Crosby to get a mental health assessment.
