Intruder arrested for Oktoberfest office break-in

La Crosse police and Oktoberfest officials search the festgrounds Thursday after a break-in at the fest office

A burglar may have spent the night in the Oktoberfest office, and made quite a mess while he was there.

The intruder was discovered by a fest employee this morning, and was taken to jail by La Crosse police.

Photos taken by fest volunteers show that office items were strewn around the room.

This year’s Oktoberfest ended on Sunday, and crews are still in the process of taking down tents on the festgrounds.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
