Phase 1 of Trane Park playground project almost done
One year into construction of the All-Abilities Trane Park, the project is on schedule, with Phase 1 close to being finished.
The first phase involves renovation of an existing shelter building at the park near South Avenue.
Planners are hoping to have the project to build a handicapped-accessible playground fully completed in the spring.
The La Crosse park department’s Kerry Gloede says the second phase is scheduled to move forward in a few weeks, with construction bids likely to be awarded in December.
Gloede tells us that a few equipment items have been trimmed from the budget, to keep the cost in the $3 million range.
Ground was broken for the Trane Park project last October.
