Attempted murder suspect jailed in Crawford County

An Illinois man is accused of attempted murder after a shooting in Crawford County. 

Bond is set at $50,000 for Lee Kennedy of Roscoe, Ill. 

The shooting happened in the Eastman area early Friday morning, when Jason Melvin of Monticello reportedly was shot in the head while backing his truck out of a driveway. 

Melvin is reported in critical condition. 

Investigators say Melvin and a female friend met Kennedy at a bar, and gave him a ride to their cabin, where they apparently drank for a while. 

Kennedy is accused of shooting at the truck while Melvin and the woman were driving away. 

He has another court hearing scheduled on Monday.
