PdC teen guilty of manslaughter in Iowa beating death

Two men have now been convicted in Iowa for causing the death of a Decorah man during a fight. 

Dalton Adam of Prairie du Chien was found guilty of manslaughter, by a jury in Chickasaw County, Iowa which deliberated for several hours on Friday and Monday. 

Adam could be sentenced to at least seven years in prison. 

A second suspect, Jacob Seelinger, is already in prison after also being convicted of second-degree murder in the death. 

The two allegedly kicked and beat 46-year-old David Hansen of Decorah, after he was knocked out and fell to the ground last year. 

Hansen was the boyfriend of Seelinger’s mother.

The victim never regained consciousness, and died weeks after the attack. 

It could not be determined whether the fatal brain injury happened when Hansen was knocked down, or after he was assaulted while on the ground.
