Downtown businesses in La Crosse put on open house
The snow and the cold temperatures may put many shoppers in the holiday mood this weekend.
Downtown Mainstreet, Inc. in La Crosse also hopes tonight’s downtown open house will do the same thing.
From the City Vision group, Jay Lokken says two main shopping areas in La Crosse, downtown and Caledonia Street, are major parts of the local economy.
About 50 downtown businesses plan to be open during the longer hours tonight, between 4 and 9 p.m.
Caroling and a tree lighting ceremony are part of the festivities planned in the downtown area.
The Rotary Lights festival is still being put together at Riverside Park, opening November 29th.
