A central Wisconsin man was carrying meth and several pills in his car during an early-morning traffic stop in La Crosse.

Alfred Mogavero of Abbotsford, Wis., has not been charged with a drug crime yet, but he is accused of bail jumping, and obstructing police by giving a false name.

A state trooper stopped Mogavero on Highway 16 on Tuesday, because his car’s headlight was out and a window was replaced with plastic wrap.

Cigarette butts and needle caps were seen inside the car.

When a police dog detected the scent of drugs, a search of the vehicle turned up a baggie of meth, and more than 30 assorted pills.

Two passengers in the car were released after the search.
