Woman convicted in 2011 drug death is back in jail

A La Crosse woman who served prison time for a drug-related death is back in jail for violating her probation. 

Christina Lorenz was booked in the La Crosse County jail on Wednesday.

Lorenz spent about three years in prison after being convicted of reckless homicide in the August 2011 overdose death of Tony DuCharme. 

She and DuCharme smoked a fentanyl patch along with a third person, after which DuCharme died in his sleep. 

The man’s body was later discovered on a hillside near a La Crosse park. 

Lorenz was ordered to be on supervision for nine years following her release from prison. 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
