Monroe Co. Sheriff’s Deputy arrested in domestic violence incident

A Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy is on administrative leave after being arrested in a domestic violence incident near rural Camp Douglas.

Deputy Jesse Murphy was arrested Nov. 26 around 10 p.m. on charges of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct and battery, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Monroe County Sheriff Wes Revels said a woman called 911 around 5:37 p.m. An immediate request was made for investigative assistance from the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office.

Murphy was taken to the Juneau County Jail. He will remain on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
