15 years in prison for 19-year-old from PdC convicted in Iowa man’s death
A 19-year-old from Prairie du Chien is ordered to spend 15 years in an Iowa prison, following the beating death of a Decorah, Iowa, area man.
Dalton Adam was sentenced Tuesday morning to the maximum punishment on two charges.
A judge in Winneshiek County, Iowa, sentenced Adam to 10 years for manslaughter in the death of David Hansen, and five years for assaulting a second person at a county fairground.
Adam apologized in court for causing Hansen’s death during a fight.
A jury ruled that Adam was not guilty of first-degree murder but did convict him on the lesser manslaughter charge.
A second attacker, Jacob Seelinger, is the son of the woman Hansen was dating.
Seelinger is now serving a 50-year prison term.
