A man and woman are in custody after a vehicle pursuit turned into a manhunt Tuesday morning in Monroe County.

A state trooper stopped a Silver Infinity on the exit 43 ramp in Tomah, Wis.

The trooper walked up to the car and could smell marijuana, and asked the driver and a passenger to get out of the car.

Instead, the driver took off, and a pursuit reached speeds over 100 mph.

The car was lost momentarily but spotted on Highway 16 near Sparta.

The suspects headed down Hazelwood Avenue and abandoned the car on foot.

They were tracked by several agencies, including K9s from the La Crosse Police Department and a drone.

They were found by the Monroe County Dog Shelter and eventually surrendered a little after noon.

Janssen McGee and Paris Akon, both 27 years old, are being held on multiple charges.

Police also found drugs the two had thrown from the car during the chase.
