De Soto goes on lockdown after teen posts social media threat while holding firearm

DE SOTO, Wis. — A 17-year-old boy faces charges after a school threat in De Soto on Monday.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department became aware of a social media post, which included the threat and him holding a firearm.

Deputies located the juvenile at his home before he went to school, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

The school district locked down all three buildings for a short period.

The boy was ordered not to possess firearms and not to contact the school district.
