La Crosse 17-year-old reaches plea agreement in gang rape

A 17-year-old from La Crosse will avoid trial for a gang rape from years ago, by pleading no contest to sexual assault.

According to court records, Dominique Hister will be sentenced Feb. 4 on second-degree sexual assault. 

Hister had been preparing to go on trial in January, when the negotiated plea was reached Monday. 

He’s one of at least three young men who was charged with repeated assaults of two runaway girls inside a La Crosse garage in October of 2017. 

Prosecutors say Hister sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl when he also was 15 at the time of the incident. 

Two teenage girls who had run from the La Crosse Family and Children’s Center say they were attacked by several young men at the garage.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
