Sculpture park idea brought to La Crosse arts board
The city of La Crosse has been making plans for an archway, made out of tree limbs, to be placed in the area north of Riverside Park.
Now, there’s talk of putting even more works of art along a specific pathway near the river, in what could be called a sculpture park.
The city arts board has endorsed the idea of such a park, in the Riverside North area, which has been renamed “River Point.”
Board member Jennifer Williams says many of the pieces in that park might be organic in nature, as opposed to metal artworks you see elsewhere in La Crosse.
The arts board will have a listening session at the Pump House on Jan. 30, where ideas for the sculpture park could be discussed.
