“Inspired by La Crosse” art contest is announced

Does the city of La Crosse inspire you to create works of art? 

Or maybe a possible cash prize would be your inspiration? 

City Hall is ready to put on an art contest, to reward people who come up with works that celebrate La Crosse. 

The “Inspired by La Crosse” contest will choose artworks related to La Crosse that will hang at City Hall for one year.

The city arts board has approved $200 cash prizes for winners of the ‘Inspired by La Crosse’ contest, plus a $1000 scholarship. 

The deadline for submitting entries is the middle of April.   

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
