Dairy Days events address emerging industry issues in Iowa

Dairy Days is coming to Northeast Iowa, giving dairy producers the chance to check out new ideas to be profitable in 2020.

Sessions will be held on five different days in five individual locations starting January 20. The day-long programs focus on various topics from ventilation to group calf housing, dairy market updates, and more.

“We just really try to bring some of the things that are current or hot topics in the industry for that winter meeting series,” Jennifer Bentley, dairy fields specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, said. “Some of the topics we are keeping on our agenda this year is the dairy market outlook. I think as we come into 2020 we are going to wonder what that is going to look like or what the projections are going to be for the coming year.”

Bentley also noted they will be addressing farm stress.

“Not only signs for yourself, but also looking at your neighbors and friends that might be dealing with farm stress and take a look at the farming economy,” Bentley said.
