Local travel magazine co-sponsors contest for Mississippi River cruise

If you’ve seen the big paddlewheelers parked at La Crosse’s riverfront, and you’ve wanted to take a vacation on one of those boats, you could win such a trip in a new sweepstakes.

River Travel Magazine of La Crosse and a company which books Mississippi River cruises are offering a week-long river cruise as the grand prize in a ‘Big River Boat’ contest.

The sweepstakes winner will get a 7-day and 8-night cruise on one of the USA River Cruises on the Mississippi.

The River Travel website has a countdown clock, counting just over 400 days until the contest winner is announced on April 1st of 2021.

USA River Cruises offers trips on boats such as the American Queen and American Duchess, which make several visits to La Crosse during the summer and fall.

No specific boat has been designated for the grand prize cruise.

Brad Williams

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
