Shavonte Thompson still needs defense lawyer for murder case
The suspect in a La Crosse shooting death hasn’t obtained a lawyer yet, three months after the crime.
Shavonte Thompson is scheduled back in La Crosse County court at the end of March.
The public defender’s office has had trouble locating an attorney for Thompson because of conflicts of interest in the case.
Thompson is accused of killing 18-year-old Javier Hall in an alley near Copeland Park last November, and he was arrested last month in central Illinois.
The suspect is being held at a state prison for now, and his bond is $1 million cash.
