American Countess being added to riverboat cruise list
A former floating casino will soon become the newest cruise boat to travel on the Upper Mississippi.
The American Countess has been built on the hull of a former casino boat used in Iowa, which was called the Kanesville Queen.
The Countess can carry up to 245 passengers, and will make its first trip north of St. Louis just before Labor Day, including scheduled stops in La Crosse on its way up and down the river.
The Countess is the fourth cruise boat commissioned by the American Queen Steamboat Company for use on the Mississippi.
