La Crosse hosting census workshop, workers could earn $17-24 an hour

Uncle Sam wants you — to count your neighbors. 

The Census Bureau needs to about 12,000 people in Wisconsin to conduct the 2020 census during the spring. 

Census recruiters are going around the state this week, talking with potential census takers. 

They’ll be in La Crosse from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Public Library on Main Street, for a recruiting session. 

Census workers have to be at least 18 years old, and they can earn between $17-24 an hour.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
