Mayo begins curbside pickup of medicine in La Crosse

Mayo Clinic Health System is switching to ‘curbside only’ pickup of prescription drugs at its La Crosse locations, starting Wednesday.

Patients can drive to the Skemp Clinic entrance and phone or text the staff to say you have arrived, and they can bring the prescription out to you.

Mayo also urges patients to have prescriptions mailed to their homes.

Drive-through and mail delivery of prescriptions will be used at the Mayo clinic sites in Holmen and Onalaska.

To help local efforts in fighting coronavirus, a $500,000 gift from the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration is going to local groups responding to the emergency.

Of that amount, $300,000 is going to the Emergency Response Fund, which includes the United Way and the La Crosse Community Foundation.

The other $200,000 is going to the Coulee Collaborative to End Homelessness.

The FSPA hopes that its donation will encourage others to help efforts in fighting the coronavirus.
