A look at Thursday’s COVID-19 totals in La Crosse, Wisconsin and Minnesota

While the La Crosse County Health Department has scaled back its COVID-19 press conferences to Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, it still is posting daily updates.

Thursday in the county, there were no new cases of the virus. La Crosse County is still at 19.

Of those, six are still recovering, including two in the hospital.

Statewide, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is also posting daily virus updates.

Yesterday, there were 180 more cases in the state, including seven more deaths. That brings the death toll up to 31.

There have been 1,730 positive tests in Wisconsin, and 461 of those have been hospitalized.

Meanwhile, in Minnesota, the number of cases statewide grew by 53 for a total of 742 — though 343 now no longer need to be isolated. One more person did died from the virus, bringing that total to 18 in the state.

Patients hospitalized grew by 75 in Minnesota to 138. The state added 11 into ICUs, bringing that total to 38.

Houston County still has no cases. Winona County — which saw its first COVID-19 death Wednesday — grew by one to 11 total. Olmsted County added another five for 66 total.
