Houston County isolated among SE Minnesota counties, with no COVID-19 cases
Most counties in southeastern Minnesota have reported cases of coronavirus by now, with Winona County recording its first COVID-19 death this week.
The lone exception in that corner of the state is Houston County, with still no cases there, as of Wednesday.
Houston County Sheriff Mark Inglett says his staffers have tried to do as much law enforcement as possible over the phone, minimizing how often they have to go into the field.
Inglett says officers were practicing safety procedures early this week, while responding to an emergency call.
Farmer Richard Wagner died in Houston County after being kicked by a cow that was giving birth.
The sheriff says people in the county are doing a “very good job” of obeying the stay-at-home orders.
Minnesota still has about 30 counties which have recorded no cases of COVID-19, mostly in the northern and western parts of the state.

If this be the case, why did the obituaries show a Caledonia man dying of COVID-19? Same for Vernon County making the claim of no COVID-19 deaths when a Westby man died of it according to the obits. One need consider that where they died has nothing to do with where it was contracted.
