No bond reduction for suspect in shooting of policeman
A La Crosse man accused of shooting a police officer last year will not get a change in his bond.
Allen Kruk is in the county jail, serving a sentence for drug possession.
Kruk is scheduled to be tried in July for attempted murder, for shooting La Crosse Officer Dustin Darling during a police call to a house last August.
Darling was wearing a protective vest, and shot Kruk in return.
Kruk’s attorney reportedly asked for a signature bond, because his client is worried about being exposed to COVID-19 in the jail.
Judge Ramona Gonzalez turned down the motion to have Kruk’s $50,000 cash bond changed.
