La Crosse County trucks used in fight against coronavirus

If you’ve been seeing La Crosse County trucks parked along the road more often than usual lately, it’s part of the county’s defense against COVID-19. 

County highway commissioner Ron Chamberlain says many workers on maintenance projects are reporting to specific trucks, instead of going to work as usual at the county shop. 

The trucks also are used to keep passersby at a distance, while the work crews are at a specific site.  

Chamberlain says the county doesn’t want large groups of people gathered at this time, when maintenance jobs such as filling potholes are being done.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
