Mayo in La Crosse gets mask donation from Sparta company
From a Mayo Clinic release:
Spartek in Sparta donated 1,500 face shields to Mayo Clinic Healthcare System staff in La Crosse on Saturday.
Earlier this month, the local plastic manufacturing company transformed their plant in order to make two versions of shields: one that could be cleaned and reused and one that can’t.
CEO George Parke had said the goal was to be able to make 12,000 shields a day.
The masks will be given to staff at Mayo Clinic Health System as part of their personal protective equipment to wear in order to protect against the COVID-19 virus which is highly contagious.
Stellar Mold and Tool helped develop the molding in record time and donated much of the cost to assist Spartek to make the masks.
