La Crosse County Board, Onalaska council take office on Tuesday
La Crosse County gets a change in leadership Tuesday night.
The 29 county board supervisors elected this month will be sworn in at an evening meeting, and a new board chair will be chosen.
That’s because retired chair Tara Johnson decided not to run again in April, after 20 years on the board.
Eight of the 29 members will be new to the board, and they’ll all serve a two-year term.
Onalaska Mayor Kim Smith will take the oath of office for a full four-year term on Tuesday, after serving as interim mayor since late last year.
There could be action at the Onalaska council meeting to fill Smith’s vacant seat on the council.
